Savvy shopper and co-owner of Brook Ledge Horse Transportation, Joan Gotwals Yoder is a member of the board of Bridge of Hope National.  In addition to her governance role, Joanie shares her bargain-hunting talents by finding needed supplies for the annual Bridge of Hope Affiliate Conference.  She also invites her business contacts to sponsor our Gala Luncheon each year and inspires her family to work for Bridge of Hope, too.  (Her husband, Terry, raised funds for Bridge of Hope National when he ran a marathon.)

Over and above her ongoing generous support, Joanie recently joined Women of Hope.  This is a new opportunity for women to make a special gift of $100 to Bridge of Hope National each year to fund this innovative friendship-based approach to empowering homeless single moms to attain financial stability.

When asked why she joined Women of Hope, Joanie explains, "As a Christian and as a business person, it is important to me to provide long-term solutions for those in need.  I want women to know that God has given them abilities to provide for their families.  Bridge of Hope's model offers homeless single moms tangible assistance plus mentoring friends to nurture their self-confidence along the way.  To me, this is truly the church being the church in a concrete and long-lasting way!"
